Frequently Asked Questions
What is a one-rep max (1RM)?
Your 1RM is the maximum weight you can lift for a single repetition of an exercise. It’s used to set training loads as a percentage of that maximum.
How is 1RM estimated without a max attempt?
From a submaximal set: Epley = weight × (1 + reps/30); Brzycki = weight × 36 / (37 − reps). We average the two. Estimates are most accurate at 10 reps or fewer.
